MARIA HELENA SAPAROLLI
Curitibana com formação em Artes plásticas pela Faculdade de Artes do Paraná – 1984, Maria Helena Saparolli vem desenvolvendo suas obras desde 1989 em atelier próprio. Atuo, entre outros, como orientadora de cerâmica vidro no Atelier de Escultura da Fundação Cultural de Curitiba de 1998 a 2012.
Considerada uma das “grandes revelações da Cerâmica no Paraná”, projetou-se como “uma das mais originais ceramistas da década de 1990” segundo Adalice Araujo no seu Dicionário das Artes Plásticas do Paraná.
Durante sua trajetória profissional atuou fortemente participando de Salões de Arte, Coletivas de Artistas e exposições individuais obtendo reconhecimento e premiações em âmbito Nacional e Internacional.
Embora tenha trabalhado com outros materiais como vidro e o bronze, a cerâmica é ainda o principal meio de expressão para Maria Helena Saparolli.
Trabalha também com painéis em azulejo, cerâmica e concreto, incluindo criação, reprodução e restauro. Dentre esses destacam-se os papéis de azulejos para o Museu Oscar Niemeyer, para Universidade Positivo reprodução de pintura do artista Sergio Ferro e para o Estação Convention Center com obras de Poty Lazzarotto, este último compreendendo um Painel de concreto bem como inúmeros outros painéis de azulejos todos esses executados em parceria com o escultor Elvo Benito Damo.
HIGHLIGHTS
Considered one of the “greatest revelations of Ceramics in the state of Paraná”, she has been quoted as “one of the most original ceramicists of the 90’s” according to Adalice Araujo in her Dictionary of Plastic Arts of Paraná.
Her professional journey includes exhibiting works in Art Shows, Collective Art Exhibitions and Individual Exhibitions receiving national and international awards and recognition.
SUMMARY
One of the most respected and renowned Brazilian ceramic artists of her generation, Maria Helena Saparolli was born on 26 February 1955, in Curitiba, Brazil, where she lives and works. A graduate of Fine Arts with a major in Plastic Arts at the University of Arts of Paraná, in 1984, she has been working on her creations in her private studio since 1989. Her extensive resume includes decades (1998-2012) of ceramic and glass teaching at the Sculpture Atelier of the Fundação Cultural de Curitiba.
ART MATERIALS AND SKILLS
Although Maria Helena Saparolli has experience working with different materials such as glass and bronze, ceramics continues to be her preferred working material and way of self-expression.
Other materials explored in her projects are tile, ceramics and concrete, including the processes of creation, reproduction and restoration. As examples of these projects are the yellow tile panels for the Oscar Niemeyer Museum; a reproduction of a painting by Sérgio Ferro ordered by the Universidade Positivo; and a concrete panel involving Poty Lazzarotto’s work designed for the Estação Convention Center. All those projects were developed in a partnership with the sculptor Elvo Benito Damo.
